With this privacy policy, we inform you which personal data we process on jimmox.ch, for what purpose and for how long. It is based on the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP).

2. What data we process

• Creating a preview: company name, town, phone and e-mail address that you enter. When importing an existing website, we read its publicly visible content (texts, images, logo, contact details).
• Shop preview: shop name, location and email address that you enter. If you try things out in your shop preview, we also store that data: products, images, test orders, test customer accounts and gift cards. Emails from the preview only go to your own address.
• Editing: texts, images, logos and PDF files that you change, create or upload in your preview.
• Order: name, company, phone, e-mail address, domain, chosen design and your comments.
• Contact form: name, e-mail address, phone (optional) and your message.
• Technical data: to prevent misuse, we store your IP address only in encrypted (hashed) form together with the number of previews created. The web server logs technically necessary information (e.g. IP address, time, page visited) for secure operation.

3. What we use the data for

We use the data to create your preview and send you the link by e-mail, to answer your enquiries, to process orders and to operate our website securely. We do not sell any data and do not send advertising.

4. How long we store the data

• Previews without an order are deleted automatically 7 days after the last change – including uploaded images and files.
• Shop previews are also deleted 7 days after the last change – with all products, images, test orders and test customer accounts.
• We keep order data for as long as necessary for the contract and the statutory retention obligations (usually 10 years).
• We delete contact enquiries as soon as they have been dealt with and there is no obligation to retain them.

5. Hosting and e-mail

This website and all stored data are located on a server in Switzerland at our hosting provider. E-mails are sent via this server.

Purchased online shops are also hosted on this server. The shop operator is responsible for their customers’ data (orders, addresses, customer accounts); we only process it on their behalf to run the shop and do not use it for our own purposes. Please direct questions about this data to the shop you ordered from.

6. Cookies

We only use technically necessary cookies, no analytics or advertising cookies:

• a session cookie so that forms work securely (deleted when you close the browser)
• “jx_lang”: your chosen language (1 year)
• “jx_land”: your approximate country, so that we can also show prices in euros or US dollars (1 day)
• “jx_domain”: the domain you checked, so that it is already filled in on the order form (30 days)
• “jx_bestellt”: your order number, so that we can show you the right confirmation after paying online (2 days)

For visitor statistics we count, aggregated per day: page views, pages visited, time of day, origin (e.g. search engine or referring website), device type, browser, operating system, language and the approximate country, region and city. We determine country, region and city directly on our server from your IP address using the “IP to City Lite” database by DB-IP (db-ip.com, licence CC BY 4.0); no data is transmitted to DB-IP or any other third party.

Using the “IP to ASN Lite” database from DB-IP, we also detect directly on our server whether a request comes from a data centre (e.g. search engines or testing tools). Such requests are counted separately and not as visitors.

We do not use cookies or Google Analytics for this and do not create profiles. Only daily totals are stored – no IP addresses and no information about individual persons. So that a visitor is only counted once per day, we derive an identifier from the IP address and browser that changes daily and cannot be traced back to you. For the “currently online” display, this identifier is stored together with the page viewed and the approximate location for a maximum of 5 minutes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving our service.

If you visit us from abroad, we show an approximate amount in euros or US dollars alongside prices in Swiss francs. We determine the country for this directly on our server from your IP address. Our server retrieves the exchange rates once a day from the European Central Bank; no data about you is transmitted.

7. Fonts, photos and embedded services

Photos in the previews come from the image database Pixabay and are stored on our server; no data is transmitted to Pixabay when viewing them. If you play an embedded video or show a map in a preview, a connection to YouTube or Vimeo or Google Maps is only established at that moment and your IP address is transmitted to these providers.

The font of this website is loaded directly from our server. The live previews of the designs and the logo generator in the editor load their fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.); your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process. On the finished website you order from us, the fonts are supplied locally.

The explainer video on our website is hosted on our server; no video service such as YouTube is embedded.

8. Payment

If you pay online, we redirect you to our payment provider Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Ireland) and pass on your e-mail address and your order number. You enter your payment details (e.g. card number) directly with Stripe; we do not receive them. Depending on the payment method chosen (e.g. TWINT, Apple Pay or Klarna), data is also transmitted to its provider. Stripe may also process data in the USA. Stripe’s privacy policy applies.

9. Your rights

You can request information about your stored data at any time and request its correction or deletion, provided there is no obligation to retain it. To do so, write to us at support@jimmox.ch.

10. Changes

We will update this privacy policy if our offer or the law changes. The version published here applies.
